Built in 1389 at the behest of Ugone di Duino, captain of Trieste, the Castle of Duino was built on the ruins of a former Roman outpost and includes a 16th-century tower. From the castle, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking view of the steep cliffs overlooking the sea.
