Built at the behest of Ostrogothic King Theodoric as the baptistery of the ancient Aryan cathedral (heretical worship condemned by the First Council of Nicaea), it is now known as the Church of Spirito Santo. The dome is entirely decorated with mosaics, depicting the baptism of Jesus in the centre.
