Heraclea Minoa Archaeological Site and Antiquarium

The Heraclea Minoa archaeological site is nestled on the Capo Bianco promontory: its double name refers to the myth of the passage of the demigod Heracles and of Cretan king Minos. A large part of the defensive walls and the towers, gates and theatre can still be seen. The finds found during excavations are kept in the Antiquarium.
