Departure after breakfast for Pisa and guided visit to the Piazza dei Miracoli, where the city’s most important monuments are situated, including the world-famous Leaning Tower, the Cathedral, a masterpiece of Pisan Romanesque architecture, the Baptistery, the largest in Italy, with excellent acoustics that are demonstrated every half-hour, and the Monumental Cemetery. Free time and lunch in a restaurant near the Leaning Tower. Guided visit in the afternoon to the splendid city of Lucca, noted for its intact walls around the city centre, with a walk through mediaeval alleys with their wealth of traces from several periods, like the Cathedral, the Piazza dell’Anfiteatro and the Piazza Napoleone. Return to hotel at the end of the afternoon for dinner and overnight stay.
