Day 1 :

Palermo

Arrival in afternoon, check-in at hotel in Palermo or nearby. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 :

Palermo/Monreale

Full day in Palermo. Guided visit in morning to city centre with innumerable art treasures, famous square and old mansions. Afternoon visit to Monreale and its splendid cathedral and cloisters. Full-board accommodation in hotel.

Day 3 :

Segesta/Selinunte

Departure after breakfast for Segesta, visit to Greek temple and theatre, continuing afterwards to Selinunte for lunch in restaurant and visit to archaeological area, one of Sicily’s most interesting. Arrival in late afternoon at Agrigento/Porto Empedocle, check-in at hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 :

Agrigento/Piazza Armerina

Guided visit after breakfast to famous Valley of the Temples. Lunch in hotel, followed by departure for east coast of Sicily stopping at Piazza Armerina, visit to late Roman villa at Casale with superb mosaics. Check-in at hotel at Sant’Alessio Siculo near Taormina for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5 :

Taormina

Full-board in hotel. Half day for visit to Taormina, famous international tourist resort with a wealth of historical and cultural attractions.

Day 6 :

Syracuse/Acireale

Departure after breakfast for Syracuse, one of Italy’s loveliest cities with excellent works of art and monuments. Rendezvous with guide for visit to archaeological area and Ortigia peninsula. Lunch in restaurant and return to hotel in afternoon stopping briefly at Acireale, noted for its Baroque treasures. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7 :

Mount Etna

Full-board in hotel. Half-day excursion to volcano on Mount Etna. Coaches can reach the Sapienza Refuge, from where off-road vehicles can be hired locally to visit craters if conditions of volcano permit. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8 :

Return

Departure after breakfast and end of our services.
