Arrival in Tropea. Accommodation at the hotel, where the group will stay until departure. Welcome cocktail, dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast we will meet up with the tour guide and head towards Cosenza. Tour of the city’s main sights such as the Duomo with the funerary monument of Isabella of Aragon, the river Busento, the Teatro Rendano and the historic Caffè Renzelli. After lunch we will head towards the so-called “Gran Bosco d’Italia”, the Sila plateau. We will visit the National Park and the Cupone visitor centre to learn more about the vast forests of beech, pine, fir and holm oak trees. In the late afternoon, we will stop in Camigiatello Silano to taste some local products. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast we will visit Tropea, one of the most beautiful seaside resorts in Calabria. Built on a rocky cliff towering over a strip of sandy beach, it offers visitors a spectacular coastal landscape and a picturesque web of alleys in the old town with its hidden squares, churches and ancient buildings. The most impressive monument is the Romanesque Duomo with façades dating back to the Norman era. In the afternoon, we will visit Capo Vaticano, a modern tourist attraction in a natural setting of outstanding beauty with views of the Aeolian Islands. We will then go to Pizzo Calabro, famous for its Aragonese castle and the Church of Piedigrotta, entirely carved out of tuff. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast we will go along the Costa Viola in the direction of Reggio Calabria, known for its stunning promenade named “the most beautiful kilometre in Italy” and the National Museum of Magna Græcia housing the famous Riace Bronzes, two bronze statues dating back to around the 5th century B.C. These two statues are one of the most famous examples of Greek art in the Mediterranean. In the afternoon, we will visit the ancient town of Scilla with its imposing Castle owned by the Ruffo di Calabria family, and at its foot lies Chianalea, a charming fishing village. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Serra San Bruno and tour of the famous Certosa di Serra San Bruno (outside), the Certosa museum and the nearby sanctuary of Santa Maria del Bosco, a very characteristic place with the statue of San Bruno in the lake called Laghetto dei Miracoli. Return to the hotel and free time in Tropea. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast we will go to Locri, passing through the Aspromonte National Park. Tour of the Museum and of the archaeological site of Locri, an ancient Greek colony and the pillar of Calabrian archaeology. In the afternoon, we will visit Gerace, an ancient medieval village, where the old town has retained its historic and artistic heritage. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.

Full board at the hotel. Free day to discover Tropea and to relax on the beach. Optional excursion to the Aeolian Islands, an archipelago of volcanic origin, located in the Tyrrhenian Sea, not far from the coast of Calabria.
