Arrival in morning at Bologna Airport, transfer to hotel in city centre and lunch in restaurant. Guided visit on foot in the afternoon to the city centre, given over almost entirely to pedestrians, with enjoyable strolls beneath the typical porticoes. The city centre has two important squares, both lined with ancient mansions and adjacent to each other. In Piazza Maggiore is the San Petronio Basilica, and at the centre of Piazza Nettuno is the Fountain of Neptune. Nearby are the mediaeval Asinelli and Garisenda towers, for which Bologna is also famous. Dinner in restaurant with menu of traditional specialities. Overnight stay in hotel.
