Departure after breakfast for a food and wine day in the Langhe area, one of Europe’s foremost winemaking regions. The morning is dedicated to Alba, the region’s principal town, with a host of churches, towers and mediaeval houses, but famous above all for its white truffles and its Truffle Fair held in autumn. Visit in late morning to a vineyard complete with tasting session, followed by lunch at a country holiday centre featuring local specialities. Visit in afternoon to Barolo Castle, newly reopened after four years of restoration, and now hosting a wine museum. Possibility of optional wine-tasting sessions organized by professional sommeliers. Return to Turin for dinner and overnight stay.
