Day 1 :

Destination Italy

Pick-up from Venice Treviso or Venice Marco Polo airport and transfer by coach to hotel in Bassano del Grappa or immediate vicinity. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

Day 2 :

WW1 battle sites and war museums

Departure after breakfast to visit WW1 battle sites near Asiago and British war cemeteries at Barenthal and Granezza, as well the Asiago War Memorial. Free time for lunch, then continuing in the afternoon to see the Canove War Museum and British and Italo-Austrian war cemeteries in Val Magnaboschi. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

Day 3 :

Monte Grappa/Bassano del Grappa

Morning visit to Monte Grappa, a strategic WW1 battle site. Something very different in the afternoon, with a short visit to Bassano del Grappa and then a grappa tasting session with the famous local spirit. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

Day 4 :

Giavera British Cemetery/Piave area

Departure after breakfast for Friuli, visiting the Giavera British Cemetery and Piave area, where WW1 trenches and gun emplacements can be seen. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in the Monfalcone area.

Day 5 :

Redipuglia/WW1 battle sites and war museums

Visit after breakfast to the National War Memorial and Museum at Redipuglia, and sites of the Battles of the Isonzo at Monte Sei Busi and elsewhere. Afternoon visit to see gun emplacements in the Monte San Michele area. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

Day 6 :

Slovenia

Departure for Slovenia to see the museum of Kobarid and the Kolovrat mountain range, an extensive area of WW1 battle sites, then continuing to Mengore and its Outdoor War Museum, with the restored remains of an Austro-Hungarian defensive line. Return to hotel in the Monfalcone area for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7 :

Return

Departure after breakfast for Venice Treviso or Venice Marco Polo airport and end of our services.
