This majestic Doric temple, praised by Goethe in his “Italian Journey”, was built in the 5th century BC on top of a hill. It has six columns on the shortest side and 14 columns on the longest side. The magnificent theatre, instead, offers a spectacular view of the sea as a backdrop.
