The royal palace of the Gonzagas, lords of Mantua, houses works of the early Renaissance (including frescoes and sculptures by Mantegna and tapestries by Raphael), Mannerism and Baroque periods (e.g. the famous “Gonzaga Family in Adoration of the Holy Trinity” by Flemish painter Pieter Paul Rubens).
