One of the most famous Medicean villas, it was built in the mid-16th century at the behest of Lorenzo the Magnificent, lord of Florence. Inside, its halls are filled with frescoes, mainly dating back to the Renaissance period, whereas outside the villa is surrounded by 19th-century gardens.
