Fossanova Abbey

A fine example of a transitional architectural style between Romanesque and Gothic, it was completed in the early 13th century. Outside, its magnificent façade is simple but imposing, whereas the interior, with just a few frescoes, has a basilica plan, built entirely of travertine.
