Built in Renaissance style in the 16th century, Villa d’Este is acknowledged worldwide as an architectural masterpiece. The villa consists of the “Apartments of the Cardinal” and the “lower floor”, with a system of fountains in the gardens including the spectacular and imposing Fountain of Neptune.
