Built by Palladio, it was completed in 1560 when the medieval castle of the Barbaro family was turned into a splendid country residence suitable for studying art. Inside, it is decorated with an extraordinary fresco cycle of the Venetian school of the 16th century, by painter Paolo Veronese.
